7 Great Holiday Gifts for Cats

Do you have a kitty? If so, don’t forget to add Fluffy to your list as you start your holiday shopping this year. After all, kitties are part of the family! In this article, a Carmel, IN vet lists some great gifts you can get your cat this year.

Catnip

Catnip is always a great choice for kitties. Catnip mice will always be popular with our feline pals, but you can actually give Fluffy her favorite plant in several different forms. Why not get your furball some catnip bubbles? Or, buy her a small pot of organic catnip, and let her nibble on some fresh greens.

Kitty Furniture

Cats really benefit having from some things that were made just for them. A cat tower would make a purrfect gift for your pet! Frisky, playful kitties may enjoy some wall-mounted furniture, or a fun activity center that incorporates toys. If Fluffy is shy, get her a pet tent or tipi.

DVDs

Did you know that you can get DVDs made just for kitties? Your feline friend may really enjoy watching documentaries about birds, fish, and squirrels! (Then again, she may just sleep through it. You won’t know unless you try!)

Cat Grass

Cat grass—or wheat grass, as it’s also known—is both safe and healthy for kitties. You can buy Fluffy a small plant at a pet store or some grocery stores. Or, upcycle an old litterbox by turning into a pot for a living plant mat.

Treats!

Snacks are another great way to activate the purr. Fluffy can enjoy a can of tuna in water; shredded deli meat; or some cooked, plain meat, fish, or poultry, without the skin, bones, or fat. Store-bought treats are also fine. Of course, if you want to go all out, you can make your kitty some homemade treats. Just be sure to only use pet-safe ingredients.

Beds

As far as cats are concerned, there’s just no such thing as too many beds! You can buy Fluffy a new bed, or go the DIY route and make one. Look online for great ideas.

Boxes

Boxes are one of Fluffy’s favorite things! When everyone has finished opening gifts, give your kitty some of the empty ones.
